WINNIPEG, Manitoba – April 14, 2009 – DiaMedica Inc. (TSX-V:DMA), a drug discovery and development company focused on novel treatments for Type 2 diabetes has announced that it has granted 45,000 incentive options to certain officers or directors of the Company priced at $0.70. As with all options granted since March 2007, these options are set to expire five years from the date of grant and are subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

(TSX-V:DMA), a drug discovery and development company focused on novel treatments for Type 2 diabetes today announces that the company has received a contribution of up to $492,316 in addition to both technical and business oriented advisory services from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).  The funding will be applied to the Company’s DM-99 development program for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

DiaMedica Inc. receives No Objection Letter from Health Canada

 WINNIPEG, Manitoba – January 15, 2009 – DiaMedica Inc. (TSX-V:DMA), a drug discovery and clinical development company focused on a novel approach to treating type 2 diabetes, today announced that it has received a No Objection Letter from Health Canada to initiate the second planned Phase II clinical trial investigating DM-71 in patients with type 2 diabetes.  In the first Phase II trial, DM-71 showed statistically significant declines in HbA1c, fructosamine and weight with an excellent safety profile in humans.
